🚙 Towing a 4x4 caravan? Here’s what your vehicle needs! Planning to head off-road with a caravan in tow? Make sure your vehicle is up for the job! Here’s what to check before you hitch up: ✅ Towing capacity Your vehicle must be rated to tow the weight of your caravan. Most 4x4s can tow between 2,500–3,500kg—check your owner's manual. ✅ Weight limits matter Make sure you're not overloading: GVM – Your vehicle's max loaded weight GCM – The combined weight of your vehicle and caravan Tow ball load – Usually around 10% of your caravan’s weight, but must stay within limits (often under 250kg) ✅ Brakes are required If your caravan weighs more than 2,000kg, it must have brakes on all wheels. ✅ Tow mirrors & equipment You need proper towing mirrors and a certified towbar rated for your setup. ✅ Get it weighed!
